The Minutes of the September meeting were accepted as a true record.

Latest ‘In Depth Magazine’ received by e-mail and passed to online members.
Details of our cover under the Associations Insurance policy included in the ‘In Depth Magazine’. Secretary to inform national treasurer value of the branch standard.
E-mail from Terry Hall (Derbyshire Branch) reference lecture on the new Astute.
No correspondence has been received from Peter Ward and as from November he will be logged as a lapsed member of the branch.
The secretary, after shaking every last grain of ink from his laser cartridge, now needs to purchase a replacement. April branch minutes refer to this expenditure. The secretary thanks the branch; the moths in his wallet can continue to sleep easily.

Social

Four members would be attending the Margate RNA Trafalgar Dinner.

Welfare

Roger Pay updated members on his visit to hospital for an operation on his hand. The good news is that his finger will not be amputated. The new skin graft is being monitored.

Any Other Business

Birthday wishes were extended to new member John Cayzer.
Details were given for the Trafalgar Parade on 19th October.
A discussion took place on where the Branch Standard should be paraded on 11th November. Whilst all agreed we should attend the Sunday Remembrance parade at Ramsgate or Margate, following a proposal by the Chairman, it was unanimously agreed the branch would commit to annually attending the St Peters War Graves memorial service on the 11th. The branch will lay a wreath. (The treasure to arrange purchase)

The Chairman, as has now become the custom, called for another tot.

There being no other business, the Chairman shut the meeting with orders to regroup in the Bar.

Date of next meeting:

SUNDAY 2nd November 2008 in the Royal British Legion Club Margate, Mountbatten Lounge at 1130
