Minutes of the Monthly Meeting 4th January 2009
Open the meeting:
The Vice Chairman opened the meeting at 11:30.
The toast was to all Submariners –A very Happy New Year.
Apologies were received from Kevin Harding; Geoff Humphrey and Stan Gosden
Members present: Barry Harris; Bob Fleming, Bill Nash, Jim Thomsett; Jim Hutton; Roger Pay; John Wood; John Cayzer; Dolly Gray and Chris Parrish.
The Minutes of the December meeting were accepted as a true record.
Matters Arising:The secretary had been tasked to give train times for the Truculent Memorial Service. See A.O.B. (Action discharged)

Greetings from Stan Gosden. Stan had sent £10.00 for his 2009 subs and £20.00 for members to have a drink after the meeting.

Truculent Memorial Service. To arrive at Gillingham at 0926, the train will leave Ramsgate at 0817, Broadstairs 0822 and Margate 0828.
Return fare from Ramsgate and Broadstairs will be £16.70 and from Margate £15.90.
Proposals for the AGM. – NO PROPOSALS WERE PUT TO THE MEETING. If any postal members have any proposals please send these to Bill Nash at
the above address by 28th January.
Roger Pay told the meeting of a serving submariner who had expressed a wish to join the branch.
Dolly expressed his disappointment that the Royal British Legion magazine was biased towards the Army and the Navy did not get mentioned enough.
Bill Nash had two DVD’s which he sold for £1.00 each with the money going to branch funds.
Birthday wishes to John our President (5th) Stan and Bob (17th).
There being no other business, the Chairman shut the meeting with orders to regroup in the Bar.
