Built: Scotts, Greenock
‘S’ Type: Group 3
Laid Down: 1940 Commissioned February 1943
Modified in 1944 and used as high speed target boat
Satyr was loaned to the French Navy in 1952 and renamed Saphir.
Sold to scrap 1962 (Charlestown)

Wartime Exploits:
In September 1943, Satyr was in Scapa Flow.
She was a reserve boat for Operation ‘Source’, the midget submarine attack on Tirpitz .
‘S’ and ‘T’ boats were used to tow X-Craft across to the fjords
Dec 1943 Satyr sent on mission to attack enemy shipping in and off the Skudenes Fjord near Stavanger.
In 1944 Satyr sunk the German U-Boat U987.
