Adoption of WW1 Unknown Sailor War Graves

Following a tour of the War Graves at St. Peter's Churchyard in April 2007, the branch adopted the two World War One Unknown Sailors graves.
The branch will ensure the graves are maintained and the headstones are clean.
The Branch Standard will be paraded on 11th November each year at the Rembrance Service organised by the St Peter's War Graves Tour Group.

All War Graves in the Churchyard have been adopted by local people. At a ceremony on Saturday 1st April 2006, Mr David Symons, UK Director of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission , presented a special Commonwealth War Graves Commission Award to St. Peter's.

On Thursday 2nd July 2009, Allan Willett CMG, Lord Lieutenant of Kent presented St Peter's Village Tours with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Guided tours of the War graves in St. Peter's Churchyard take place from April to November. These are very popular and booking is essential. Phone 01843 868646 to book.
